Question:
What is the maximum number of RAIDs Volumes (logical devices) supported in the RAID subsystem?
Answer:
CX-Ranger-E and CX-Ranger-EX
The maximum number of RAID Volumes or logical devices that can be created is 2.
For example, you can create a RAID using 3 disk drives with RAID level 5, and another RAID using 2 disk drives with RAID level 1.
Note: The Host PC must support SATA Port Multiplier in order for more than one logical RAID to be visible to the Host.
CX-Ranger-SAS
The capacity of a Volume Set can consume all or a portion of the raw capacity available in a Raid Set.
Multiple Volume Sets can exist on a group of disks in a Raid Set.
The following are the Volume Set features:
1. Volume sets of different RAID levels may coexist on the same Raid Set.
2. Up to 128 Volume Sets in a Raid Set can be created by the RAID controller.
