Question:

The RAID Controller System Event log shows "Over temperature". What should I do?

Answer:

The CX-Ranger RAID subsystem has one sensor on the disk backplane. If an over temperature condition happens:

(1)   Over temp LED will blink red light.

(2)   The GUI RAID Manager GUI will pop up a message "Over Temp.".

(3)   The RAID subsystem event log will record "Over Temp.".

(4)   The RAID subsystem buzzer will alarm

The CX-Ranger RAID subsystem temperature limit is 55°C.

When an alarm has sounded because of over temperature, first check to be sure that the fan is functioning properly (the fan blades are rotating).

 If the fan module is defective, please contact Ciphertex Technical Support for repair information.

 Otherwise, please lower the environment temperature
